Sponsored by KCI 60 Minute Engagement Break - Overcoming the Asset Management Hurdle/KCI Project Highlights
Increasingly, local government jurisdictions, including cities, counties, water supply and reclamation utilities, and stormwater utilities, are finding that they can improve their financial performance and spend capital funds more strategically through the effective application of modern asset management. In the Report Card for America’s Infrastructure, ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) identified the implementation of asset management programs as one of the methods to raise America’s C- score. How does one get started, though? KCI’s Shana Lowe will conduct an engaging presentation covering the basics of asset management and how to get started on the development of a program. No asset management software yet? No problem! There is plenty of work that can be started within an organization before software is in place. Ms. Lowe will then pass the mic over to Amanda O’Shea. Ms. O’Shea will discuss some of the asset management and GIS projects that she has implemented in her 14 years at KCI, including a geometric to utility network migration and development of a cloud-based operational digital twin for Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources. It is anticipated that the presentation will only take 30 minutes, and time for Q&A will follow.
