American Water Resources Association (AWRA) 2010 Spring Specialty Conference GIS & Water Resources VI

Join the authors of February’s Water Resources IMPACT at noon on Monday, March 29th.

The authors of the lead-in issue of IMPACT will be there to talk more about their articles in the issue of IMPACT leading up to this conference, to reflect on their view of the future, and to answer your questions.

Join us to discuss The Value of GIS: Developing Qualitative and Quantitative methods.

This event is included in the Registration Fee. All registered conference participants are invited to attend the Opening Networking Reception. Come greet old colleagues and make new acquaintances. Also, the Poster Session participants will be at their posters to answer any questions during the reception. Additional tickets may be purchased on site at the AWRA Registration Desk. The cost of an additional ticket is $35.00.

AWRA Fun Run

6:30 AM - 8:00 AM

All pre-registered participants are welcome to join us for a beautiful, casual Fun Run! The run will follow a course (TBD) that will take in sights near the hotel. Kids are welcome to join in the run! There is no charge for this event but please sign up prior to the conference using the Conference Registration Form. (Please meet in hotel lobby at 5:45 p.m.)

NASCAR Sports Grille

5:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Come and join us for a fun filled evening at NASCAR Sports at Universal City Walk-Orlando's Hottest Night-time Entertainment Complex located just outside the gates of the Universal Theme Parks. A great place to get your "vrrroom on", NASCAR Sports Grille has over 50 state of the art plasma screens and 2 video walls showing all sports and major sporting events.

The Quick Start Buffet" will be available and will include:
The Speedway Caesar Salad
The Pace Car Pasta Marinara with Meat Sauce
Creamy Macaroni and Cheese
The Pit Stop Mixed Seasonal Vegetables

Each guest will receive 3 drink tickets good for beer or wine. A full service cash bar will also be available.

The official Fox Sports Mascot, "Digger" will be visiting our group during the evening. Roundtrip transportation will be provided from the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. So grab your racing gear and join Digger and the rest of your colleagues for a fun evening at the NASCAR Sports Grille!

AWRA Conference Luncheon

12:00 Noon - 1:15 PM

This event is included in the Registration Fee. Community , conversations, and connections, the hallmark of AWRA, provides the basis for our closing luncheon.

We are also very pleased to have Robert M. Wallace, P.E., Ph.D. speak on "GIS Ubiquity – How GIS everywhere will transform the Water Resource Community " Dr. Wallace is the head of the Computational Science and Engineering Division within the Information Technology Laboratory at the US Army Engineer and Research Development Center.
