Climate Change Adaptation
Louisiana Bayou Bay Mixed Bag Fishing
Bayous surrounding New Orleans offer some of the most
exciting salt water fishing in the world. Observe the
internal levee structures and oil/gas infrastructure of
Lake Salvador and Bayou Perot while plying the waters
in search of a mixed bag of speckled trout and red fish.
Participants will be picked up at the Hyatt Regency
French Quarter hotel on Sunday June 14th at 6:00 am for
a short drive to Griffin Fishing Charters Lodge (http://louisianafishingcharters.com)
in Barataria, LA (24 miles). You must purchase the required
3 day non-resident license prior to the day of the trip.
It can be purchased on-line at the above mentioned website
for approx. $10.00. Do not purchase the license until
you receive formal confirmation that the trip will go
as scheduled from Joe Pfeiffer, the trip coordinator,
which will be approximately 10 days prior to the conference.
will be provided prior to boarding the 24' bay boats (4
people per boat) for 6 hours of fishing. All rods, reels,
bait, tackle, ice, and soft drinks are provided. Upon
return to the docks fish will be cleaned and a shore lunch/dinner
will wrap up the day before you will be taken back to
the hotel (estimated return time 3pm). Trophies will be
given for largest fish (Individual - either kept or released)
and most fish caught (boat - kept and released), plus
conference bragging rights. Total cost is $235 (plus license
and guide tip) per person.

and reserve your spot on the trip please send an email
to Joe no later than May 26th, 2015 (joe.Pfeiffer@kci.com).
Please let him know that you are registering for the AWRA
fishing trip and provide him with your current contact
AWRA reserves the right to cancel the fishing trip if
the minimum number of participants is not met.
