CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS
AWRA is pleased to offer the opportunity for attendees of concurrent sessions at either of the 2012 Summer Specialty Conferences that are being held back-to-back to earn 1.05 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). An option to obtain 1.8 CEUs for those persons attending both conferences also is available. AWRA is an authorized provider of CEU’s by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
SESSIONS FOR WHICH CEUs WILL BE AVAILABLE - The Emerging Contaminant Conference will include sixteen (16) eligible concurrent sessions offered in 8 time slots beginning at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 25, 2012, and concluding at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Persons who elect to receive 1.05 CEUs for the Emerging Contaminants Conference will be required to attend concurrent sessions in 7 of the 8 time slots.
The Riparian Conference will include twenty-one (21) eligible concurrent sessions offered in 8 time slots beginning at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 and concluding at 12:00 Noon, Friday, June 29, 2012. Persons who elect to receive 1.05 CEUs for the Riparian Conference will be required to attend concurrent sessions in 7 of the 8 time slots.
Persons attending both conferences who elect to receive 1.8 CEUs will be required to attend six concurrent sessions of the Emerging Contaminants Conference and six concurrent sessions of the Riparian Conference.
Please note that CEUs are not available for the Plenary Sessions, Poster Sessions or any other scheduled events of either conference. Note also the CEU’s are not available for one-day registrants for either conference.
SIGN UP AND COSTS – You may sign up for CEUs using the registration form provided in the Preliminary Program which includes both conferences. The charge will be $22.00 for AWRA members and $26.00 for non-members. The charge also will be $22.00 for AWRA members or $26.00 for non-members attending both conferences and electing to receive CEUs for both.
PROCEDURE – AWRA is required by IACET to maintain very specific records for the awarding of CEUs. Your conference registration packet will include a form on which you may record each of the 7 sessions that you attended (or 12 sessions if attending both conferences).You may move between concurrent sessions but you must have the sheet signed by a session moderator at the end of the session time-period. The sheet should be returned to the AWRA Registration Desk by the end of the Conference you attended. Alternatively, you may mail or fax the completed form to AWRA within a week after the close of the Conference. CEU's cannot be awarded without the completed form.
CEU'S AWARDED – AWRA will award a total of 1.05 CEUs representing 10.5 hours of attendance to those persons successfully completing the CEU Program for either the Emerging Contaminants or the Riparian Conference. Persons attending and successfully completing the CEU Program for both conferences will be awarded 1.8 CEU’s representing 18 hours of attendance. Earned CEUs will be entered into your permanent AWRA record within two weeks following the conferences. Letters indicating that CEU’s have been awarded will be mailed to CEU recipients by August 15, 2012. Please note that 0.1 CEU is the same as 1.0 Professional Development Hour (PDH).
