Abstract Submission: A processing fee of $25 will
be charged for each abstract submitted payable upon submission
of the abstract. The fee is non-refundable and will not
be credited toward the cost of the presenter's conference
registration fee. Abstracts are being sought for oral presentations,
panels and posters covering a wide range of topics. To be
considered for placement in the program, please go to the
link given below to connect to the abstract submittal form.
ABSTRACTS MUST BE RECEIVED VIA THE WEB SITE ON OR BEFORE
FEBRUARY 4, 2008. Membership in AWRA is encouraged but
is not a requirement for presentation. All conference presenters
are required to pay the appropriate conference registration
fee. If your abstract is accepted, you will be given the
opportunity to publish a short paper in the CD-ROM Conference
Proceedings (see below for more information.)
The quality of the submitted abstract will be viewed as
an indication of the quality of the presentation. Previous
performance or failure to give timely notification of cancellation
at previous annual and specialty conferences may influence
the decision for acceptance.
Panels/Special Sessions: Individuals who want to
put a panel or special session together for the conference,
must contact the Conference Technical Program Chair to discuss
the idea prior to submitting an abstract(s).
Review: Soon after the February 4, 2008 deadline,
abstracts will be reviewed by the Technical Program Committee
for originality, technical merit, currency, and relevance
to the Conference topics. Authors' suggestions for topic
and format placement (oral, panel or poster) will be considered,
but the Committee will make the final decision. Abstracts
received after the deadline may not be accepted.
Notification of Acceptance/Placement: Acceptance
notification will be made via email to the corresponding
author by late February 2008.
Conference Proceedings: A proceedings of short papers
(6 pages) and extended abstracts (2 pages) will be published.
Instructions will be located on the AWRA website.
Cancellation Policy: Late cancellations and failures
to give scheduled presentations are disruptive and leave
gaps in the program that are distracting to all attendees.
Before submitting an abstract, authors should be confident
that they will attend the meeting and make the presentation.
If the presenter finds he/she can't attend then they should
attempt to find another person to make the presentation.
If cancellation is unavoidable, the presenter should notify
Patricia Reid by May
26, 2008 otherwise a penalty fee will be charged. The
late cancellation/no show fees may be waived on a case by
case basis by contacting Patricia Reid.
