Half-Year Memberships
(July 1, 2007 to December 31,
2007)
are now available.
Here's what a couple of our multidisciplinary members
told us recently in our member survey:
"[AWRA} is the
single best organization that addresses the
technical aspects of water resources, which is by nature
interdisciplinary."
"AWRA fosters
communications between academics, consultants, and
policymakers with a variety of academic
backgrounds. No other organization in the
hydrological sciences does this quite as well."
AWRA is known for its community,
conversation, connections. Members from many
disciplines come together for joint action to resolve
critical issues that confront them.
Join us today.
If you value the
multidisciplinary approach, join AWRA! Benefits

Keeping You Connected
June 2007 |
"And here's annunna
good idea."
Emma Meyer (my very own,
now 17-year-old daughter) at age two upon
discovering something -- anything -- that surprised
her.
I have some exciting news this month! As you
may know, Blackwell Publishing is now the publisher of
the Journal of the American Water Resources
Association. They have just
completed the awesome task of scanning and posting all
issues of the Journal back to
1967! If you are an AWRA member, you have access
to ALL these issues electronically. (More
about this below.)
If you're not yet a member,
I have "annunna good idea" for you
... join now for half a year for half
the Regular member dues. (Details below.)
You can try us out, register for the Annual Conference
at the member rate, peruse literally decades
of peer-reviewed scientific articles newly
available online, and enjoy six months of the
Journal, Water
Resources IMPACT, technical committees and
so much more. If you are committed to a
multidisciplinary approach to water resources
management, you deserve to be taking advantage of
everything AWRA offers.
If you have a good idea for us, you know your
comments and suggestions are always welcome. Send
me an e-mail!

Archives Now Online |
|
At the beginning of 2007, Blackwell Publishing
began publishing the Journal of the American Water
Resources Assocaition (JAWRA). At that time,
issues back to 1986 were available in PDF form from the
AWRA website. Members had access electronically to
issues going back to 2002.
Today, AWRA is most pleased to announce that
every issue of JAWRA back to 1967 is now
available online! Members
have access electronically to every single issue with
their membership.
It's a multidisciplinary treasure trove for water
resources professionals. You can visit the Blackwell
JAWRA site and see for
yourself. ( Members: login
first and follow the instructions for full
access to JAWRA articles.) Search on keywords important
to your work and see what happens.
Just one more way AWRA helps water
resources professionals make the scientific,
cross-disciplinary
connections that are so
important to managing this most precious
resource. |
AWRA Logo Shirts Available
for a Limited Time
Order by July 15,
2007!
In
response to a large number of requests, AWRA is
introducing a new, high-quality, chambray
shirt emblazoned with the AWRA logo available for
purchase.
We took a look at the last
time AWRA logo shirts were available, carefully
calculated the likely number of times they've been worn
and the washes they've endured; considered the
number of hours they've spent traipsing in the field
protecting you from UV rays; and incorporated
sophisticated data about the rip-to-stain incident
ratio.
And, you're
right! It
is time for a new AWRA logo
shirt.
For a limited time only, you
can order an AWRA logo shirt or two, so you can
finally replace that ragged
AWRA shirt that has served you so well (or introduce one
into your wardrobe), and proudly wear your
commitment to multidisciplinary water resources
research, education, and management on your sleeve (I
mean, left chest) again!
Ordering information, sizes, and costs, are
available here.
