Water Snapshot '96
For a nine-day period in April of 1996 over 70 organizations and hundreds of
individuals joined together to conduct the only basin-wide water quality monitoring program
ever operated in the Delaware River Basin. A total of 335 locations on 174 waterways were
sampled in every corner of the Delaware River's watershed. Somewhere between 1,500 and
3,000 pieces of information were collected. These data present a snapshot of water quality
that can be used to prioritize today's water quality monitoring activities while serving as a
baseline for comparing tomorrow's water quality data.
