WHEREAS, the temporary use of flood control or recreational storage space in existing reservoirs in the Delaware Basin can assist in relieving water shortages through the provision of water for flow augmentation and salinity protection; and WHEREAS, the Beltzville, Blue Marsh, Francis E. Walter, Prompton and Nockamixon projects may be adapted to such temporary emergency use in the public interest; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Delaware River Basin Commission: 1. Conservation Releases. Reduction in normal conservation releases from federal and state reservoirs is hereby authorized. Such releases are modified in accordance with Table 4 of Section 2.5.5 of the Commission's Water Code. 2. Storage and Releases - Federal Reservoirs. Pursuant to the Compact, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hereby requested to assist in relieving the water supply emergency by retaining storage and by providing releases of water from the Beltzville, Blue Marsh, Francis E. Walter, and Prompton projects on request of the Commission to assist in maintaining the Trenton flow objective. (a) Requests for releases from these reservoirs will be scheduled in such manner as will minimize flood risks to downstream communities and adverse impacts on other project purposes. 3. Storage and Releases - Pennsylvania Reservoir. Pursuant to the Compact, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hereby requested to assist in relieving the water supply emergency by providing releases of water from the Nockamixon Reservoir project on order of the Commission and in accordance with the priority of use shown in Table 1 of Section 2.5.5 of the Commission's Water Code to help maintain the Trenton flow objective. 4.
