Water, Energy and Climate Change

A look at the effects of climate change and energy
production on Colorado’s water availability and quality

Friday, April 18th, 2008
Mt. Vernon Country Club

There are various current events and trends that have the potential to affect the water supply in Colorado. This year’s symposium will look at how energy production and climate change affect Colorado’s water availability and quality both now and in the future. The topics to be discussed include water use for ethanol production and hydropower, the projected effects of climate change on Colorado hydrology, possible concerns related to forest fires and the beetle kill, the protection of current water supplies, the potential for reuse of water in the State, and the development of potential new supplies. The invited keynote speakers include the new State Engineer, Dick Wolfe and Justice Greg Hobbs.

Watershed Science degree’s 50th anniversary

CSU is celebrating the Watershed Science degree’s 50th anniversary this March in Fort Collins in conjunction with Hydrology Days, March 26-28.
