Topic: Emerging Contaminants
Emerging Contaminants, generally refer to a large suite of chemicals from pharmaceutical and personal care products to pesticides and industrial chemicals like flame retardants and plasticizers. The Philadelphia Metropolitan Area Section, founded in the summer of 2000, meets regularly on the third Thursday of every month (excluding December, July, and August) at a location in downtown Philadelphia convenient to public transportation. Our monthly luncheon meetings feature a guest speaker addressing an urban water issue of local interest. Anyone may join the organization. Membership is not required to attend the luncheons. Membership dues help us defray the cost of postage, photocopying, postal box fees, and other expenses typically incurred by this type of organization. The objectives of this section are to provide a forum in which persons interested in water resources research, management, and education can meet, discuss and exchange ideas pertaining to all aspects of water resources in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, and to support the objectives of AWRA. |
