Adrienne Proctor, Project Analyst, Bureau of Water Standards, PA DEP, Harrisburg
Topic:  

"Emerging Contaminants"

Emerging Contaminants, generally refer to a large suite of chemicals from pharmaceutical and personal care products to pesticides and industrial chemicals like flame retardants and plasticizers. Many of these compounds are suspected endocrine disruptors and have been implicated as impacting the aquatic life. Human health effects are largely unknown.  Ms. Proctor will discuss the PA DEP's current position regarding emerging contaminants relative to water quality standards and regulations.

The 2006 Urban Watersheds Revitalization Conference is a two-day event. On May 18, from 4:30 to 6:00 pm, a Stormwater BMP Recognition Awards Ceremony at the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

On Friday, May 19, Villanova University hosts expert watershed management speakers, Award-winning stormwater BMP presentations, and a developer panel discussion in a full day of watershed information and research discussion
