Description

What specifically do you mean when you use the word “inclusion?” It has become one of the most popular words relative to the modern workplace, yet in most organizations it remains a vague, ambiguous idea, which makes it a hard target to hit. If inclusion is the product you are trying to deliver, then you should be able to speak to its characteristics. In this presentation, Joe brings a powerful and actionable new clarity to the concept of inclusion, what it is, why it matters, and how it happens. The audience will leave this message with a strong foundation upon which to build impactful and sustainable diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will take a clear and concise definition of inclusion back to their organization.
  2. Participants will understand how to use their foundational definition of inclusion to identify specific behaviors and practices to promote.
  3. Participants will identify specific behaviors and practices that result in a more inclusive employee experience.

Description

Inclusion is not a state of mind, it is not an intellectual endeavor, it is not a statement of commitment, or someone else’s job. It is an active practice, and this session will introduce you to that practice. Anchored in a practical and logical model of what inclusion really is, joe will introduce you to a set of competencies and commitments you can choose to make, and a set of competencies you can choose to employ to ensure that your leadership is, in fact, inclusive. You will leave this session with work to do and tools to use, all of which you can act on immediately. This is how you make it real.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will understand the leverage involved in changing the way leadership is done.
  2. Participants will be introduced to a menu of competencies and commitments for inclusive leadership.
  3. Participants will examine ways in which to socialize and implement a more inclusive leadership.
