Parking for the conference is available at the Capstone Parking Deck with a permit. The address for the parking deck is: 921 2nd Ave, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. Registered attendees will receive emails (starting Friday, April 5) with permit details.

Transportation to/from Birmingham Airport (BHM)
You can choose to arrive in Alabama through the Birmingham Airport (BHM), which is the closest airport to Tuscaloosa and The University of Alabama (one hour by car). There are two types of pick-up services from the Birmingham Airport:

1. Airport Service: Tuscaloosa has a transportation service to and from the Birmingham (BHM) or Atlanta (ATL) airport. The companies below offer transportation to and from the Birmingham or Atlanta Airports:

2. Taxi Service from Birmingham to Tuscaloosa: Although it is more expensive than the shuttle service, taxi service is also available from the Birmingham Airport to Tuscaloosa. The cost is approximately $100-120 (plus tip). Taxis are normally waiting outside the baggage claim area of the airport. You should ask the driver for the price and agree to the price before you get in the taxi.

Uber Airport Shuttle: All airport rides may be booked online or by phone.

Local Transportation Options
  • Joyrides - Golf carts for locations too close to drive but too far to walk; Tuscaloosa only; Hours of operations: 9am-3am Mon-Sat / 12pm-10pm on Sunday; $3 a person; seats 5 or 7.
  • Tuscaloosa Trolley - low cost, mobile app, “real-time” tracking; Hours of operations are Monday – Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ; $1 for those without UA ID

REGISTRATION NOTE

AWRA Code of Conduct

All conference participants (presenters, moderators, panelists, attendees, etc.) must adhere to the AWRA Code of Conduct and must register at the appropriate registration rate. AWRA Gateway members are not eligible for discounted conference rates. The registration fees are the major source of funding for the Conference, and the sharing of registrations is prohibited - every person attending the conference must register. For presenters, if two or more individuals will be presenting, each individual must register for the conference. This includes: all technical session presenters; all panel session presenters; and all poster session presenters.

Cancelations must be made in writing. Those cancelations received by February 8, 2024 will be subject to a processing fee of 30% of total fees. No refunds will be given after February 8, 2024 but we can transfer your registration to someone else. The transfer must be completed by April 1, 2024. Abstract submission fees are nonrefundable. Refunds will be processed after the conclusion of the conference. Conference location decisions are guided by AWRA's policy.
